I am trying to install the drivers for a geforce FX 5200 on a Fedora core 1 installation. I recompiled a new vanilla 2.4.22 kernel (the same version as the FC1 kernel). The drivers installed fine on teh FC1 Kernel but not on the vanilla kernel (which is what I need). I have attached the installer log. However when I try to compile and install the drivers manually (using the make file in the package) i get a slightly more detailed error.

I have tried searching the forum but I could not find a solution. Thank you for any help you can provide. |

Thank you for reporting this problem, it looks like this is a regression in recent NVIDIA Linux graphics driver releases.
Please try the following: # sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.09-pkg1.run --apply-patch /path/to/NVIDIA_kernel-100.14.09-325790.diff.txt |

Howdy,
Just wanted to say that it helped me out as well, thank you! After reading all about how good Slackware is I decided to give it a go and get rid of Xubuntu. Unfortunately X wouldn't start after the installation which immediately caused a challange ![]() I tried to install the 100.14.11 version and bumped into the same problem. So decided to download the .09 version + patch like mentioned in this thread. Thanks again. René |

I should probably mention that the patch should also work with 100.14.11.
