Default Re: If you want to see if your OverClock Is Stable

You really need to run Orthos / Prime / Memtest for at least two hours before you can call your system "stable." I've seen many PCs crash continually in applications that passed those benchmarks for 30 minutes to an hour.

Running it for 10-15 minutes is simply not good enough; there could still be a problem there. Much better to make sure that you're stable than to corrupt your operating system. The latter is a much bigger pain to fix, and you can be sure that an unstable overclock will corrupt your OS eventually.

Ok.... Fresh out the bed. Orthos didn't crash on me . I could use a new air cooling system, though because I run at around 43-47c idle and I used to run 32-37 idle when I first got my Scythe CPU cooler... Stupid Scythe HS/F isn't working. The stock AMD HS/F is better... Other than that, my PC is OC stable at 2.50Ghz and it's current RAM timings.

I don't want to get you drunk, but, ah, that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking.
