Well folks Asus finally released a new bios this week. The Asus Striker Extreme 680i Intel Edition bios version: 1202 If you like beta bios files here you go!
url: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...map&mapindex=0 Change log: BIOS for ASUS Striker Extreme Version: 1202 Release Date 2007/05/23 Update Description: 1. Update NV RAID ROM to 6.98 2. Update NVMM to 4.A72.24 3. Support wolfdale CPU. 4. Release EZflash B322 5. Add microcode not found & update fail message. 6. Modify CPU fan speed warning item value.. Note: Although Intel has brought the great-performing P35 chipset and is preparing to release the high-end X38 chipset next month, the overclocking enthusiast's chip of choice remains Nvidia's 680i which powers quite a few top notch motherboards. Although some have been wondering as to the chipset's support for the upcoming 1333 MHz FSB processors like the E6850 and E6750, at least one motherboard, Asus's Striker Extreme will even work with Intel's Wolfdale CPUs. With the latest BIOS released, version 1202, Asus has brought Wolfdale support for the LGA775 board powered by the Nforce 680i chipset. The Wolfdale CPUs are the 45nm dual-core parts that will replace the Conroe Core 2 Duos. The processors will feature a 1333 MHz FSB and 6 MB L2 cache and will be released in the first quarter of 2008. Congrats to Asus for extending Striker Extreme's life 'expectancy'.

Beta BIOS?? No thanks. A bit TOO risky for my liking. As for the P35, it's bit too early to be swapping. Looks good though. DDR3 RAM is FAR too expensive and with no real benefits at the mo', i'm waiting to see how thinks develope in the future.
Striker all the way for now ![]() |

Exactly! you would have to have balls of steel to use a Beta bios on a nearly $400.00 motherboard. I said they hell with that once I saw it was a beta bios. Asus must be wanting alot of RMA issues releasing crap like that to the public. It's one thing for a bios but a beta bios that's just not a good idea.
