That's an Ubuntu bug, which was discussed in a few other threads on this forum, with a workaround.

I'd recommend reporting this to Ubuntu.

So this is an Ubuntu issue? Does anyone know how to create a driver CD to get the latest graphics and chipset drivers to load during installation, and will that even work?

sweet I found it. I'll have my buddy try and implement the fix tonight. I figured I'd do the research since I'm the one who suggested the hardware to him and now it doesn't work!

Just out of sheer curiousity, is the entire chipset supported by Linux (not just graphics)?

it worked here with the 100.14.11 driver, but the xvmc option doesn´t work.
is the support for this feature not implemented in this driver?
xine crashed with xxmc option on with the message "unknown 3d-system" or something like that..
Will be this feature in the next release, when will it be released?
it is very necessary for a efficient htpc!

thanks for a reply
