Default Nvidia 1.0-9639 driver problems in Fedora Core 6

This is my report of the problems I'm having with the Nvidia
graphic driver on the Linux platform. First my system
configuration common to the testing I preformed.

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 2650
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce2 Go
Linux Distro: Fedora Core 6
Kernel: 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6
Desktop: GNOME 2.16.0
ACPI service: Installed but not active
Xorg server: Version 1.1.1-47.fc6

The test: Determine the stability of the two drivers with
the Gnome Desktop Effects window manager (GDE), the Beryl
window manager (BWM) and the suspend(S2)/hibernate(S4)
functions.

Stock video driver: nv (delivered by Fedora Distro)
GDE:
- n/a because there is no 3D

BWM:
- n/a because there is no 3D

Configuration 1 ->
S2:
- works
- won't resume (display remains blacked out but system appears up)
- wireless network: won't resume
- have to reboot laptop

Configuration 2 ->
S4:
- works
- will resume
- wireless network: resumes

***************

Nvidia video driver: nvidia (Version 1.0-9639 IA32)
Configuration 1 ->
GDE:
- enabled but the window decorations (borders) are missing after
S2 and or restart of the Gnome window manager. Have to
disable/enable the GDE to get window decorations to return

S2:
- works
- will resume (lose window decorations and have to disable/enable GDE)
- wireless network: won't resume (have to reseat the PCMCIA card twice
to resume network connectivity)
- sound device is disabled

S4:
- works
- wont't resume (display remains blacked out but system appears up)
- wireless network: won't resume
- have to reboot laptop

Configuration 2 ->
BWM:
- enabled and is stable

S2:
- works
- will resume (no issues with widow decorations)
- wireless network: won't resume (have to reseat the PCMCIA card twice
to resume network connectivity)
- sound device is disabled

S4:
- works
- wont't resume (display remains blacked out but system appears up)
- wireless network: won't resume
- have to reboot laptop

Configuration 3 ->
GDE / BWM:
- disabled

S2:
- works
- will resume
- wireless network: won't resume (have to reseat the PCMCIA card twice
to resume network connectivity)
- sound device is disabled

S4:
- works
- wont't resume (display remains blacked out but system appears up)
- wireless network: won't resume
- have to reboot laptop

Note: I had some log files to attach to post but was unable to do it.
