Default WoW/Wine/100.14.11 "Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support"

Just sharing my recent issue.

I upgraded to a 8500 and hence had to run a beta 100.14.09 driver to get X to start.

After upgrading to 100.14.11, WoW would no longer run, I was getting the error "Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support".

Rolling back to 100.14.09 fixed it for me. Perhaps this will be helpful to others.

I am also seeing this exact same error on a 7300GS and 7950GT.

I was using WoW just fine on the 09 driver. After the upgrade to 11 I can no longer use WoW.

I have attached the report for the 7300GS. This is with the 11 driver.

Hm, I downgraded to the 09 driver I am still unable to use WoW due to the same error message. I confirmed the 09 driver and kernel module are loaded properly...

Are we sure this is not a Wine bug? I think I upgraded Wine to 0.9.41 on the same day I upgraded to the 11 nVidia driver. I will downgrade Wine to 0.9.40.

EDIT: After downgrading to 0.9.40 (confirmed working) I still get this error message on the 09 driver (was confirmed working).

I am stumped. I can't play WoW now.

Yes, I have rebooted my system. I even uninstalled and then installed the 09 driver again.

I found that the issue was the 32-bit libraries are not being linked correctly.

I'm having to put the nVidia libraries in LD_PRELOAD before I run "wine wow -opengl".

Works now on Wine 0.9.41 and nVidia 100.14.11 but I'm not sure why they are not linked. I've run ldconfig and prelink without any success... ldd reports that wine is linked to the nvidia libs. *scratches head*

EDIT: Removing the 32-bit "mesa-libGL" package took care of the library problem... This doesn't sit with me well. Unless anyone has any ideas, I don't have any more time to investigate this.

Given that your bug report is missing /var/log/nvidia-installer.log, I'm going to assume that you installed the driver using some distrbution-specific mechanism that failed to install the 32-bit libraries correctly. You'll need to report this bug to your distribution.

Lightbulb Re: WoW/Wine/100.14.11 "Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support"

Ok found a fix that worked for me.
Firstly I'm using Wine 0.9.41, Nvidia 100.14.11

Just install "xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-32bit" for 100.14.11 through Add/Remove

The above package is actually part of the 64bit libraries

Thanks, hope I could help
