Nvidia 6150/Nforce 430 chiptset driver problem at Red Hat
hello everybody
i've FoxConn Motherboard 6150-K8MA-8KRS with Nvidia Chipset 6150 nForce 430/410. & i wanna install RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 WS (2.4.21-4.EL) but when im gonna install it, it has some kinda Driver issues regarding SATA & on IDE HDD Display driver. can any body help me out to find any article or drivers for it han. i've tried a lot of drivers from Nvidia site but it's not working.. waiting for ur replies Thanks in Advance. regards Muhammad Usman.  |

instead of 2.4.x, why not try Fedora 7 or CentOS 4.5? both use the 2.6.x kernels which tends to play a lot nicer with hardware. Foxconn also has APIC timing problems so you'll need to disable it with noapic kernel parameter, and it won't even boot if you don't for the new 2.6.22fc kernel.

The original RHEL3 release had no support for this hardware. You'll need to use a much more recent RHEL3 release, or a more recent distribution, as others have already recommended.
