Exclamation Bad texte rendering with drive 1.0-9639

Hello,

The texte was difformed when using the NVIDIA drive in the Xorg.conf. (see picture) I am obliged to used the "nv" one instead.
Now I mad some change to my kernel (just optimizing it) and I also tryed to used the last drive. But now the button image or icones image on the dekstop are blac.
The OpenGl games do not have a good rendering: textures are darck and are flicking!
Here is my bug report for the last drive.

Some one have an idea?

Alex

You're not using the 'nvidia' X driver in the bug report you've attached.

Does this problem persist if you set NvAGP to 0?
Have you verified that you're using the latest motherboard BIOS?

Unhappy Re: Bad texte rendering with drive 1.0-9639

Problem is still present with NvAGP to 0.
I checked in /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status, it is well disabled.
Problem is still here, and this time it affect also the texte!
I din't lockated yet the last version of BIOS for my motherboard, a SiS735-K7S5A. Do you have any idea of this? I remember that I had a major fealure with the BIOS: date was not good at all (seems to be cleared at first possible date), and my HD where no more reconised. But I do not remember if problem comes at this time!
An other quieu can be about my upgrade from kernel 2.4 to 2.6 when I changed from Mandrake 10 to Mandrive 2006.0. Do you know some think about old drive changed/removed in newer kernel?

I couldn't speculate further on possible causes. I'd still recommend updating to the latest BIOS version.

Arrow Re: Bad texte rendering with drive 1.0-9639

Hi,
Sorry for this delay, but I am a litle busy at this time.
For the BIOS, I have one of the last. My motherboard is old and appartly there was not a lot of recent eveolution/correction. The last version is in date of year 2002.
So I would like to try some thing else, with old driver for exemple. I will try to tel you more about it on monday, if I succed!

I tryed with an old drive: 1.00-8178. It seems to work better at a first glance, but I still have problem with OpenGl games, ans I can't vue any DVD. I have only the sound and no picture.

Sincerely.

I mouved to a Debian distribution, and I still have the problem.
My install is totally new, and I used the "auto configure" tool provided with the drive.
Can it comes from the card its self?
