I've always thought that not being able to edit your own posts was dumb. This can be a pain in the ass in the For Sale/Trade area!

Um, You can edit your posts but after a certain period of time you lose the ability. Trust me I edit plenty of my own posts... if I didn't I would look more like an asshole then I normally do.

The reason we have a time constraint is people come back and say they didn't post something when they did. We had a rip off scammer in the For Sale Forums that edited out a part he was selling after getting the money from the seller. I had no proof that he had actually posted the board here for sale. As you know buyers come to me first when they don't get their payment for goods. I like to keep the site uncomplicated and a time constraint on post editing has solved many problems before they can arise. That's why I have a time limit on editing posts.

Because that's not an option in this version of vBulletin. Also the For Sale forum is not the only forum that has the problem. Why not start a new thread when you release a new version?

Just thought of something else which I think there is in vBulletin: Just disable to option to edit (first)posts in For Sale forum.

But indeed, a new thread is also possible, but its easier to have everything in 1 thread
