I honestly don't believe he believes it, and I think he knows EXACTLY what he's doing. When I was exchanging e-mails with him early on in this nVidia fiasco the man seemed damn near embarressed about his own stance.

But he sure defended it hard regardless of what he believed.

Did he actually say that? It looks like he has been trying to change the way benchmarks are done for a few months. You gotta start somewhere. For that, I applaud his actions.
I agree on everything he says about benchmarks except for his total ban on 3dm2k3. I just find that one ridiculous. Granted it's got it's problems and you don't play it, but synthetic benchies are an important review tool and can help you compare cards in ways that game benches won't. I'm not saying they are the final word or represent "real-world gaming" (<---Gads, I'm beginning to loathe that term!), I'm just saying they're a good tool for what they DO do....apples to apples comparisons of hardware.

I'm just curious about Brent now. He posted up over at Rage3D about how he was going to do some testing, but hasn't re-replied since some rude & arrogant little ghit asked him to "Please go piss all over Kyle for me and tell him he's a lying hypocrite while the benchies are running?" (Well, I was mad.... )

I don't even look at his page anymore, he just wants hits.

I don't think his site is banning 3dmark03 as a whole. Just the game tests and the final score,

I like 3dmark's little synthetic tests, But the scorig system and the game tests are what I dislike.

Well, there kind of has to be some form of scoring on it since it's a benchmark...don't there?

Are you just against the current "weighted system" test and it's emphasis on gametest4? (Personally I do think their scoring system could use a bit-o-tweaking on 3dm2k3 my ownself. )

Actually I think the scores should be weighted on the little synthetic tests That would be more practical. I just dont believe the game tests represent much at all

Of course that would assume the synthetic tests couldnt be cheated, but they can,

But I'd still rather the synthetic tests at least be a "part" of the practical score
