scattered flashing red pixels
I've got a PNY Quadro NVS 440 that is acting up.
Some time ago the card started initializing over and over. In the Xlog I could see that the card was reporting setting the resolution to 1280x1204, which it already was set to...
I upgraded to 100.14.19 (amd64, Core 2 Duo) and it went away for a day or two. The it started again.
I was running Debian at the time but decided to try Ubuntu Gutsy (Tribe5) and everything went fine and I got compiz running with all the coolness using the proprietary driver in Twinview. Then things got bad. At first I started getting random wierdness like in the attached screenshot. After a while the system would more or less lock up.
Then I started getting the screen filled with scattered red flashing pixels and after a moment the system would lock up.
I've tried reseating the card but it hasn't helped. At the moment I'm using the built in Intel VGA which works perfectly, although on only one monitor.
So, what do you think is my graphics card busted or...?
