Hello,
I've contacted nVidia support and was suggested to contact card manufacturer, but i think it's driver's issue, so i'll try to post question here. I've connected computer to TV using 3RCA-3RCA cable. Running X, the picture on TV is missing red channel (it's all blue). But then i switching to console, the red is present (that's why i think, it's driver problem but not cable or card). I'm using 6600 GT with 100.14.19 drivers and Xubuntu Gutsy (7.10). I've tried two different cables with the same result. Also tried drivers from Fiesty (1.0.9755+2.6.20.5-16.29), still the same. Your screenshot links do not work. What is a "3RCA-3RCA cable" ?
Have you tried using the TVOutFormat option, per the README? |

TVOutFormat "Composite" does "No signal", "SVideo" does b/w picture. I also tried TVStandard with values from "PAL-B" to "NTSC-J", according to list in this guide https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaTVOut with the same result.
I don't know proper name for 3RCA-3RCA cable - it's triple cable with RCA connectors on both sides (Y, Pr, PB/AV). Photos and xorg.conf attached. |

Sounds like you have a Component out cable. If so, then I wouldn't expect S-VIDEO or Composite to work.

I didn't found value for TVOutFormat and component cable (actually, i didn't find any other values other than "Composite" and "SVideo").
Or connection with component cable isn't an option at all? |

See the driver README's discussion of TV-Out.

OK. Seems like
Option "TVOutFormat" "Component" Option "TVStandard" "HD720p" Option "metamodes" "TV: 1280x720 +0+0" do the trick. Thanks for your time. P.S. To whom searching for TV-out with component cable: working (almost, only some small invisible areas with screen border) xorg.conf attached (separate screens) EDIT: netllama, thanks again |

Composite is not the same as component. Confusing them will result in the type of problem you're reported in this thread.
