Unhappy Slow rendering, TwinView?

Hi,
I am running Ubuntu 7.04 x64 with nvidia driver 100.14.11 for Geforce 8800GTS. I have one 17" monitor, Sony SDM-S75 (running at 1280x1024 @ 60hz), and a 22" widescreen, LG 22LS4R (running at 1680x1050 @ ??hz).

When set up in TwinView the LG seems to have issues rendering certain windows. The attached image is an example.

It does this example situation for any window, but a window that it also does this for all the time (even without compiz) is video software (although I can never seem to catch that with screen shot ... and it's the video software that's more annoying, seeing this every 10 odd seconds gets annoying). If I turn off TwinView then the LG works fine and with or without TwinView the Sony has no problems. Even with video at full screen the Sony has no problems yet the LG has issues with TwinView when the window is small (say 320x200 for example, I would like to think the video software is not forcing it to re-render the entire desktop, just that window). Is there possibly something missing from my configuration? (I have attached my xorg.conf as xorg.txt). I have also tried playing a game (neverwinter nights ... granted not a heavy duty game these days but surely desktop rendering isn't either) stretched across both screens and that has no problems.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Question Re: Slow rendering, TwinView?

I attempted a change to Xinerama to see if that makes any difference, it seems to work fine now. I have so far been unable to get compiz working to test this, however the video rendering for DVDs etc works fine. So any ideas why TwinView seems to not work as well as Xinerama?

More importantly is there anything that makes TwinView better than Xinerama that I will be missing out on?

Thanks,
Adam
