Default Plans for 9639?

Are there plans to update the legacy drivers, specifically 9639, to support X 1.4, or has it been abandoned?

Thumbs up Re: Plans for 9639?

That what we like in Nvidia !
I have used a TNT for a long Time, now for the old Computer new: an 6200A.
Because of the good Support for also old Cards i ordered a new Nvidia for
my new Hardware - an 8600GTS for my C2D System ( Parts will be delivered this
Week ). An 8600GT works great on Suse 10.2 on the System of a Friend too.
I have had trouble - some months ago because of finding the right legacy Driver.
The NVidia Support helped quickly and kompetent.

I have had some small Troubles while compiling the 7184 Drive for Kernel 2.6.22-5,
the NVidia Installer Script searched for the config.h(or.c) ? witch is replaced by the
autoconfig.h(.c) ? should this be included in the Installer ( or is this already done ? )?
Copying of this file from the 2.6.18 sources to the 2.6.22.5 sources solved this
Problem on my System. The TNT supports 3D on my Suse10.3 Beta Tests !
( But for Compiz it seems to be to slow )

I will set up my Old Computer as an Backup/Reserve System.
( Suse 10.2, installed actual legacy for the TNT )
The 6200A will be used in our local Linux/Elektronik Community ( works great with Compiz ! )
The new System will replace the old but good Hardware - only because of Speed
Reasons.
New System:
Gigabyte Board I35-DS3P, Gigabyte Nvidia 8600GTS SilentPipe, C2D 6750 with
4 GB DDR2 800 and 2*160GB SATA2 Raid0, SATA DVD Burner.
Still in use: an old PCI SCSI Card - for my Scanner, hope this will work too.

Thanks for your Linux and User Support !

Old versus older. Geforce or Riva TNT The sticky threads at the head of the list have the link to the card list. There is a 7185 for the older cards.

Please update soon. 9639 doesn't compile here for 2.6.23-rc7 x86_64.
