Unhappy Power off and resume regression

Since kernel 2.6.22 I'm not capable of neither powering off my PC (although suspend does work) or resuming after a suspend call.

Here are a few more details of the problems at:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9064

This used to work with a 2.6.20 kernel using either the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.09-pkg2.run or NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.1-pkg2.run driver.

The problem is observed on both a 2.6.22 vanilla kernel or a pre-built kernel from Fedora 7 using either NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.1-pkg2.run or NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.19-pkg2.run driver.

Just to add further info in here... a manual invocation of:
Quote:
echo disk | mem | standby > /sys/power/state
does work properly.

Please make sure no NVIDIA specific pm-suspend scripts are run (some distributions ship with pm-suspend scripts that invoke vbetool to re-POST the GPU, which interferes with the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver's power management functionality).
