Default Client GLX only install option in the *nix installer

I'm running some closed source lightweight OpenGL applications in an Ubuntu branded zone. I have to use X11 forwarding and glx over SSH, since there's yet to mean to forward X11 stuff directly. For fun I've tried installing the NVidia client GLX libraries in the zone for a change, to replace the standard SGI ones, and noticed a slight increase in performance plus access to additional features.

However the Linux installer won't budge in the zone, it segfaults trying to do its Linux stuff. The only mean to make this work is extracting the files and copying and linking them manually.

For this, it'd be nice if there was an option on the installer that only copies the /usr/lib stuff and otherwise does absolutely nothing.

Thanks.

Default Re: Client GLX only install option in the *nix installer

Uh, this is actually about Solaris, maybe it wasn't clear enough by simply mentioning "Branded Zones". So it might be moved back to that forum.

What I'm currently doing is running the Ubuntu userland in a lx26 branded zone in Solaris. I'm running various closed source OpenGL application (i.e. games) in there and need to forward everything via DISPLAY or ssh -X using GLX. What I've noticed is that I get a slight increase in framerate and subjective smoothness using the Nvidia GLX. The installer however just crashes trying to run it in the fake Linux environment, requiring me hands-on.
