Default Display configs for hotkey switching?

Hotkey switching of displays between builtin LCD and external VGA-connected monitors (with the 100.14.09 driver and AFAICT with the 100.14.19 driver) apparently offers only mutually-exclusive switching between either the builtin-LCD and the VGA-connected external monitor.

I.e. either one is working and the other is blank, i.e. there is no apparent mode where both are working (with the external monitor "mirroring" what's on the builtin-LCD) as occurs with every windows install on a laptop I've used (no matter the underlying graphics processor), and with Macs, etc, etc.

Having hotkey switching working (yea!) between mutually-exclusive monitors is fine for my office and home use, but not when I goto conferences/meetings where I give presos and can't necessarily easily see the presentation screen.

Is my setup a limiting factor, e.g. could my xorg.conf (included below) be tweaked to enable this? Or the config of ACPI or whatever?

If not, and if it's a feature local to the driver itself, is there on-going work on the nvidia binary driver to enable such a feature?

Also, if my running `nvidia-bug-report.sh` would be helpful, i.e. mebbe there's something with my config/install, please let me know.

There's another aspect to hotkey display config switching I want to ask about, but it's more complex so I'll do it in another separate thread.

thanks,

=JeffH
