All right, one more question today. I have my laptop and home network configured to share a printer. This has been working great.

I want my wife's work laptop to be able to print to the shared printer, too, but when I try to set it up, it doesn't see the printer, or the home network.

Her laptop is part of a "domain" for work, while the home network is a "workgroup."

Is this the problem, and is it possible to get them to play nice together?

I've done some searching, and there are some suggestions out there regarding "net use" commands, but I'm hoping for something simpler.

Have her access your machine by IP Address as a UNC pathname.

Start, Run, and enter \\aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd where aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is your IP address.

OK, I'll give that a go once I'm done troubleshooting this other problem.

OK, just so I'm clear, I'm supposed to find the IP address of my PC (printer attached). I do this by ipconfig /all, and get the IP address.

Then I go into her laptop and try to access it by putting tha IP address into the field, followed by the printer share name: \\192.168.2.101/HPprint

Did this, and it pops up a window asking for a username/password. I type in my username for the account my PC is logged in under. I don't have a password, so I leave it blank. But after hitting "enter" it says "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed."
