8500 GT instability

I run a fairly normal ubuntu distribution and installed the latest NVidia drivers. I have noticed three bugs and following instructions on this board, I have had no luck solving them.

1) TV-Out comes up in black and white at first. After a restart of the X server it comes back up in color.
2) TV-Out comes up in wrong resolution. This one is odd. I tell it to be 1024 and it comes out to about 930. The proportion is consistent across all resolutions.
3) The worst one is after a day leaving my computer in X it will crash. Leaving X and staying in the console does keep a good uptime however even then, the display starts to get corrupted. If I try to get into X at that stage, immediate hard crash.
