Angry totem freezes on first startup after boot using 100.14.19

Hi, I am setting up to sell entertainment computers with a Geforce 7050 display on the mainboard and running totem under debian etch, but after every boot totem hangs on startup. Subsequent starts of totem work OK, but I cant sell computers that appear to have problems. If I switch to the vesa driver totem starts fine every time, so it must have something to do with the nvidia driver. My mainboard has a dual-core cpu, but setting idle=poll and maxcpus=1 as kernel parameters doesnt help. I have also tried both 64 bit and 32 bit debian etch, with both having the same problem. Is there any way to work around this? Can I disable something to prevent the problem? Maybe the nvidia driver is loading something when totem starts that makes it hang, and that I can do without? I dont need high performance for games or 3D, just mp4 movies. Any one got any ideas?
