Default nvida-settings and dynamic twinview

Currently, due to bugs with screen order and twinview with full screen games (that i have reported in detail before) i have to deactivate my left hand monitor before starting games. I currently do this in the nvidia-settings program by setting the resolution to "Off" then back to "Auto" when i finish playing the game.

Is there a way i can just do this with a command rather than using the gui? I cant seem to figure out the nvidia-settings command stuff at all.

This can't be done from the commandline. It is more involved than just one option and for that reason it isn't offered.

You can add a MetaMode in your xorg.conf file with "NULL" for one of the screens, and then you can switch to that from the command line with the xrandr utility. See the README section on TwinView for more details.
