Default Installer Fails with SMP kernel

I am trying to Install TNT2 Drivers on Redhat 9 with a 2.4.20 smp kernel. It fails no matter what is done. Has anyone had any experience with a Dual Processor kernel?

You're almost defintely going to have to compile the kernel module.

Make sure you have the kernel source code installed.

I have personally found all sorts of software that won't compile against the Red Hat 9.0 kernel source. My suggestion is to grab the 2.4.21 kernel source, add any patches you need (I personally run the preemptible kernel patch, frees/wan, Win4Lin. With these patches against a 2.4.21, the NVidia module compiles fine against SMP and Single CPU configs.

Be sure to have your kernel source configured for SMP before attempting to build the NVidia module. In addition, if you compile the kernel with SMP and want to switch to single processor, you need to do a "make mrproper" or it will fail to build properly.
