Several months ago I purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 106BW monitor/crt and the new Nvidia driver for Windows XP works just fine because the driver includes a 1680x1050 mode. However every attempt to try and upgrade my Linux machines (2) with a new Nvidia drive have failed.
Here is roughly the problem as recorded in /var/log/XFree86.setup.log: XFree86 Version 4.3.0 (Red Hat Linux Release 4.3.0-2)The latest files are attached. I would appreciate any advice that would help me solve this problem. However, one thing I really do not want to do is to install another version of Linux if I can help it. OS: Red Hat Linux Version 9 (Shrike) Graphic Adaptor: Nvidia FX5200 Driver: NVIDIA-X86-100.14.19-pkg1.run downloaded 11/23/2007 RAM: 1 GB CPU: AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+ 1.67 Ghz
