The patch didn't seem to work for me - it froze up solid within 1 minute of starting warcraft III.
System:
ASUS A8R32-MVP (+ Opteron 165 + 2GB ram)
Palit 7600GS Sonic
Fedora 7 (2.6.22.4-65)
nvdrivers: 100.14.11
However, I have been trying out different configs so many times, it's quite likely I have messed something up.

Attaching a bug report, hoping it will contain something obvious.

JoachimF,
You're using different hardware than what everyone else in this thread was using. The patch would not be expected to workaround any problems in your hardware, as you're experiencing a different, unrelated issue. Please start a new thread after reading the forum sticky posts.

Hi,
I've got a motherboard with an ATIRS480 chipset and a nvidia 7200GS card installed and was experiencing lockups. I applied varies different options to resolve this including the patch + 100.14.11 driver option presented in here to no avail. I have the proper hardware for the patch to work, yet it seems theres no working fix as far as I can tell.

This thread is specific to the GeForce 7300. If you're using a GeForce 7200, then you're hitting a different issue altogether, and you should start a new thread after reading the forum sticky posts.

Well. I think this is the solution. I changed the x86 to x86_64 and pkg0 to pkg2 and got my custom shell script, logged off X, logged a root console, sh the custom script and answered all the questions the same as I usually do. Rebooted and downloaded the latest GoogleEarth that now has Sky (4.2.####). I went to some of my favourite places for about 10 minutes and no lockup. Now it has only been 24 hours since the install but it usually locks up quick. I have a dual core AMD 64 3800 xplio from Staples (Canada) but the built-in ATI gfx card caused me grief with Suse 10.1 so I went for the 7300GS for about $120CDN. Lots of lockups so I had been running with the Xorg nv module rather than the nvidia. If I have a lockup in the next few days I will report which would mean that the patch didn't work but I have gone longer than any time before with the nvidia module in xorg.conf.

@moueza: please use the latest 100.14.xx NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release or the 169.04 BETA driver.
