Default Problems switching to newer drivers (IgnoreEDID works UseEDID not)...

I have Ubuntu 6.1 and following problem.
I have my Toshiba LCD-TV connected to it. When I use nvidia-glx-legacy drivers (7163 I think), I can still use IgnoreEDID option and a custom modeline. I can use resolutions I want - for example 720p. If I update to nvidia-glx (8776?) there is a note about IgnoreEDID being deprecated and replaced by UseEDID or three other options:

Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "FALSE"
Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidModes"

I put these into my xorg.conf but my computer stubbornly starts now with VESA resolutions or something like 1024x768 there is some mention about non-valid mode in /var/log/Xorg.0.log - so it appears as if the new options do not work for me?!?!

Ok here are the relevant bits from /var/log/Xorg.0.log

(**) NVIDIA(0): Depth 24, (--) framebuffer bpp 32
(==) NVIDIA(0): RGB weight 888
(==) NVIDIA(0): Default visual is TrueColor
(==) NVIDIA(0): Using gamma correction (1.0, 1.0, 1.0)
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "NvAGP" "1"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "UseEdidFreqs" "FaLSE"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "TRUE"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "UseEdidDpi" "FALSE"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "ModeValidation" "DFP-0: NoEdidDFPMaxSizeCheck, NoVesaMod
es"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Enabling RENDER acceleration
(**) NVIDIA(0): Using HorizSync/VertRefresh ranges from the EDID has been
(**) NVIDIA(0): disabled on all display devices.
(**) NVIDIA(0): Use of NVIDIA internal AGP requested
(II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA GPU GeForce 6200 at PCI:1:0:0
(--) NVIDIA(0): VideoRAM: 131072 kBytes
(--) NVIDIA(0): VideoBIOS: 05.44.a2.07.c2
(--) NVIDIA(0): Interlaced video modes are supported on this GPU
(--) NVIDIA(0): Connected display device(s) on GeForce 6200 at PCI:1:0:0:
(--) NVIDIA(0): TSB TOSHIBA-TV (DFP-0)
(--) NVIDIA(0): TSB TOSHIBA-TV (DFP-0): 155.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): TSB TOSHIBA-TV (DFP-0): Internal Single Link TMDS
(II) NVIDIA(0): Mode Validation Overrides for TSB TOSHIBA-TV (DFP-0):
(II) NVIDIA(0): NoEdidDFPMaxSizeCheck
(II) NVIDIA(0): NoVesaModes
(II) NVIDIA(0): Assigned Display Device: DFP-0
(WW) NVIDIA(0): No valid modes for "1920x1080"; removing.
(WW) NVIDIA(0):
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Unable to validate any modes; falling back to the default mode
(WW) NVIDIA(0): "nvidia-auto-select".
(WW) NVIDIA(0):
(II) NVIDIA(0): Validated modes:
(II) NVIDIA(0): "nvidia-auto-select"
(II) NVIDIA(0): Virtual screen size determined to be 720 x 480
(++) NVIDIA(0): DPI set to (100, 100); computed from -dpi X commandline option
(--) Depth 24 pixmap format is 32 bpp

So why on earth does it ignore the modeline entry and complain about validity? This is now with glx-legacy driver.

I tried options:
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Plug'n Play"
ModelName "Toshiba 37WLG66S"
# Option "IgnoreEDID"
Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "FaLSE"
Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE"
# Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidModes"
Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "TRUE"
Option "ModeValidation" "DFP-0: NoEdidDFPMaxSizeCheck, NoVesaModes"
HorizSync 28-49
VertRefresh 51-60
Modeline "1920x1080" 176.92 1920 2008 2224 2632 1080 1080 1083 1120

So truly beats me...
