Default Blank screen, no errors after upgrade

I upgraded to Debian etch and kernel 2.6.18-5-686 and compiled and installed the nvidia driver using NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.01-pkg1.run and now everything says it works but my tv screen is blank. This is a home theater machine with no monitor and no hdtv, so I'm stuck with tv-out. I'm at a loss for what to do. I've attached the nvidia-bug-report.log which appears to have all of the various requested files within it. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
