Default nvidia-settings allows only 2 resolutions for an external CRT

Hi. I'm running Fedora 8 and 169.04 binary drivers. I tried attaching an external CRT (Samsung SyncMaster 959NF) to my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A100-847, Go 7600). I found out that nvidia-settings will allow only 640x480@60 and 320x240@60 to be selected for the CRT. That's a bit low, given that the CRT does definitely support 1600x1200@85 - it is my desktop monitor and I am working with such settings. Any ideas what is going on in here? Bug report log attached. Thanks for the responses in advance.

Same problem- only with NV .14.19 driver on Ubuntu Gutsy. Nvidia-settings only allows 2 (480x etc) useless resolutions. I used to get Twinview at 1280x800 perfectly on projectors a few months ago! What happened?
