Hi,
as already explained in an other thread I try to get my new 8500GT running. X seems to work. In Xorg.0.log there is the line: (II) Loading extension XVideo-MotionCompensation but xdpyinfo does not say anything about xvmc. I already edited /etc/X11/XvMCConfig to point to the correct lib. What else do I have to do? Regards |

I already got xxmc with xine working. BUT, the video stutters. Does it have the same cause? Or do I have a chance to lower cpu consumption with xxmc in comparison to simple xv-output? Regards. |

xxmc work like a top down approach of xvmc -> xv -> x11..
til it finds something that will work. so if xvmc is not available most likely you are using Xv |

Very interesting. So it should be more or less a little bit overhead compared to xv in case xvmc is not running.?
But, xxmc reduces the cpu consumption by about 20 - 30%. How does that work then? Does it reduce the work by dropping some frames from the video? |
