Red face 169.04 - TVStandard isn't recognized

Hi,

I am running Fedora 8 with the latest NVidia 169.04 Beta drivers for Linux X86_64.

I have a separate X-Screen setup to use my TV as a second screen using SVIDEO and the TVStandard PAL-G (Germany).

Up to driver version 100.14.19 this setup was working fine, Beta 169.04 broke this setup.

Option "TVStandard" "PAL-G" isn't recognized anymore (PAL-B doesn't work either), the screen just keeps black&white and flickering which seems to mean that the default NTSC mode is used.

I switched back to 100.14.19 and it's running fine again.

Seems like a bug to me or is there something wrong with my xorg.conf?

Hope that someone has an answer to this problem

Regards
Julian

Have you tried "PAL" instead?

No one else from Germany here that can verify that bug?

I already sent a bug report to NVidia, hope they take a look at this one.

Looking in the bug report it seems that the option *is* recognized, but apparently it does not work correctly.
Of course, what you see on the screen of your TV is not in anyway reflected in the output the bugreport produces :-)

Of course, whether you specify PAL-B, PAL-G or even PAL-I would make no difference at all in this case, because those variants only differ in the details of the radio-frequency signal (like channel spacing, sound carrier offset).
Only PAL-M is really different, because it uses 60Hz vertical instead of the 50Hz used in Europe.
You could try PAL-M and see if that at least gives a picture. It will depend on your TV if it supports PAL-M.
(if it does, it will probably also support NTSC and you could use that for testing as well)

Well i have a picture, my PAL tv handles 60Hz, no problems. But none of the standards gives me colors, it's color tv i want.
