Vertical Hold problem when screensaver standsby

I dont know what this could possibly be but for whatever reason, my nvidia 8800gts does not go from screensaver to standby properly, Once screensaver time is finished, the screen just starts to scroll very quickly as if the vertical hold needed to be adjusted. Anyone have any clues?
