Unhappy Dell Inspiron 8200 geforce440go broke since 1.0-43xx

Hi Everybody,

I'm using Debian kernel 2.4.20 (patched ipsec) on a Dell Inspiron 8200 (BIOS Rev. A08) with geforce440go. I've worked on this for a couple of days now but there seems to be no solution. Since driver revision 1.0-43xx the driver doesn't work. Version 1.0-4129 works fine.

Error: Installation works fine, but:
The system completely freezes when starting X (not just 'black screen' issue). No reaction to network or keyboard. I have to switch off the notebook. Usually filesystem gets corrupted but can be fixed. Logs only show symbols.
I had Ver. 1.0-4369 running maybe 2 or 3 times without freezing (no changes to config though) and it runs fine (once started) with improved fps.

I've tried all the hints found in this forum with config-options with no result (e.g. noapic, apm=off, ignoredisplaydevices, nobandwidthtest, noddc, no native resolution, ...).
No chance!

Unhappy 1.0-4129 also broke

Unfortunately version 1.0-4129 shows same behaviour this morning.
Laptop freezes completely upon X startup. Didn't change anything since yesterday evening when everything worked fine
