Default Deprecated sysctl system call with 1.23

I am running git rc7 kernel.

Latest driver now produces a warning in logs:

Jan 9 15:24:55 linuxamd kernel: warning: process `nvidia-installe' used the deprecated sysctl system call with 1.23.

bug-report attached.

Ooh... I just found out I get 'illegal instruction' trying to run any glx:

nick@linuxamd:nick$ glxgears
Illegal instruction
nick@linuxamd:nick$ nvidia-settings
[click on glxinfo]
Illegal instruction

Nothing in either /var/log/messages or syslog.

I guess I will have to go back to 100.x series

Works here with latest linux-2.6-git.

Maybe change you kernel config?

Strange, all works fine going back to NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.19.

If I use the first 169 series driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.04, I get the 'illegal instruction' running glx apps again?

Once I tried to run nvidia-settings on my 169.07 system (SuSE 10.3) and when I clicked OpenGL/GLX info the X server became unresponsive. I could not do anything on the X screen, but I could ssh from another system and kill -9 the X server (it ignored a normal kill), after which things were normal again.
Maybe this is the same or a related problem?
(I don't want to try it again as I have many programs running)
