Default crash on exit glXChannelRectSyncSGIX with Java/MainWin on Linux

Some of our 3D apps crash on exit in glXChannelRectSyncSGIX() (see stack trace). This seems to happen only from Java samples and only with NVIDIA drivers. Using Mesa or an ATI card works. Also, the same 3D apps run fine on Solaris.

I managed to narrow it down to a sample that uses just Java and MainWin (Unix port of Win32), so it's an issue outside of our own apps. However, I have been unable to reproduce it in a pure, native glX sample that doesn't use MainWin. So, I don't have a simple reproducible case.

I've tried a variety of things and browsed around the forums and elsewhere but have been unable to find a solution. One post to which i'm subscribed is:

Awhile ago, I submitted a bug report to linux-bugs@nvidia.com but haven't seen any response.

We have large Linux customers and any help or ideas would be much appreciated
