Default I don't know how to set two monitor, 1st portrait 2nd landscape

Hello all and thanks to Nvidia for such a great support for linux users.

As the subject may explain I couldn't be able to set this two monitors I have:

1) 1600x1200
2) 2560x1600

to use Xinerama in this configuration:

Code:
1200----2560------
6 | |
0 | |
0 | |
-------------------

(ignore the third monitor)

is there any chance to do it under linux?

thanks again

Yes, to configure the 2 screens Xinerama see "Chapter 15. Configuring Multiple X Screens on One Card" in the README (http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...apter-15.html).

If you have a GeForce 8800 or higher (G80-based GPU), or don't care about GLX then you'll probably want to use TwinView instead (see chapter 13).

The advantage of TwinView is that it is faster, but on older GPUs you can only get accelerated GLX up to ~4096 pixels. The other option on older GPUs is a slight amount of overlap, to keep the overall width of the screen small enough.

Xinerama is slower, but should be able to go up to ~4096 pixels on each underlying screen.

I can't find a way to flip the monitor,

I'd like it to be

1200x1600 (portrait)
2560x1600 (landscape)

am I missing something?

Ah, I hadn't realized one screen was rotated. It should be possible In that case, you'll need to configure "Separate X Screens" + Xinerama along with the "Rotate" X config option on one of those X screens.

wow, it's been easier than what i thought.

here's the solution (obviously you have to have installed the latest nvidia drivers)

Code:

    Screen 0 "Screen0" RightOf "Screen1"
    Screen 1 "Screen1" 0 0

EndSection
