Hello everyone,
I recently build a new computer with the following parts: Q6600 (G0) 4gbs OCZ platinum Dual Channel PC6400 800MHZ 600W Ultra PSU XFX Nvidia 8800GT (not overclocked) Asus P5K motherboard (BIOS 0603) My questions are, what are some recommened software to test/tweak/maintain the computer. I also want to test that the computer is running at its full potential, so im wondering if there are any guides i can follow to make sure that the ram is setup properly (voltage, timing, etc..). If anyone has anything useful that they can post to help me tweak and maintain the computer to run at its full potential, i appreciate it. Also, will overclocking the graphics card result in any higher fps for games or result in better performace? Thanks for the help |

http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm ,Assuming you are using Vista (64) "Also, will overclocking the graphics card result in any higher fps for games or result in better performace?" Yes Just slap it upto 700/1750/1000 Fan @ 60% with Rivatuner then work from there, Should be stable at those clocks.

Thanks for the reply. Will look at the links after school.
Will the stock fan at 60% fan speed cool the card without any problem? (Until the store gets a VF1000) Also, im using rivatuner for my fan speeds, and im wondering what the min and max temperatures should be set for? Thanks again for the help. |

Just keep in mind that the gains from overclocking your graphics card aren't that substantial. We're talking about a leap from 60fps to 65 at best.
