Default FX5900 trouble

just purchased an FX5900 (did replace Ti4800) ... I am using XFree 4.3.0 (kernel 2.4-20) .. The Ti was running fine, but the FX shows some really strange behaviour:

All applications work fine for 2 seconds, then everything has a break for a second, then again everything is working fine for 2 secs ... this includes all opengl stuff, but as well xterms

I am using driver version 4363 ....

anyone aware of settings that might help with this?

Default Another one!

I am having the very same problem with 4363 and 4349. I don't see this issue with 4191, but that build does cause lockups in fullscreen 3d apps (like, you know, Tribes2, Enemy Territory, etc. )

I'm running XFree86 4.2.1 (debian unstable),
2.4.21 custom kernel,
on an A7N8X-Deluxe 2.0
Barton-core Athlon 2800+
1 GB Corsair XMS3200 RAM (running at 166 DDR)

I can post my kernel config and XF86Config if needs be, but I'm really pretty darn sure this is a driver issue of some kind.

Here's hoping the big retail-channel FX5900 release today will be followed up with new Linux driver builds!
