I'm actually still a little disappointed that Nvidia didn't get off their asses and make a Soundstorm2 card. Soundstorm was fantastic DDLive implementation, well ahead of its time and pretty stable throughout. Dolby Licenses can't be THAT expensive.

i still use my Audigy2 ZS LOL
fwiw, there are some advances you can do with sound cards, but it's nowhere near the headroom there is in GPU's and CPU's. |
