Default Where is the E8500 Wolfdale 45nm?

The E8400 is out.

The 8500 was supposed to be out on the 20th as well. It doesn't seem to be available anywhere.

I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger, but I want to see some head-2-head comparisons for the 8400 (3gz) vs the 8500 (3.16gz) and the difference in over clocking potential.

Well, having an extra multiplier would be nice for people who can't hit very high bus speeds.

I'd just grab an e8400, im not interested in ocing much right now, but I did make sure to put it above 8500 clocks to satisfy me, mentally. You could just as easily do the same.

The Wolfdale Duo E8500 looks to be a great overclocker if it is able to do
3.66gigs on stock voltage and over 4.3gigs with the v-core increased.Plus even the lower priced E8400 is just $215 ,and looks like a pretty good deal with the performance increase you get even without over clocking it,and up to 4gig with a voltage increase.

My local dealers site say 'In stock in 2-3 days'.

Anyone know if an Extreme Wolfdale is gonna be released? These chips are being held back by FSB limits from what I can see, not the CPU's limits.

A lot of X38 and X48 boards are hitting 520MHz+ on air cooling. How far do you want to go?

MOAR!

That's my point though. If you could select a 10x or even 11x multiplier, what would the CPU reach?

500 x 11 =
