Default can't insmod nvidia.o

trying to install 4363 on Red Hat 7.2 fresh install.. kernel headers are loaded. this is on x86 pIII 450 w/ Intel board.
vid card is eVGA geForce 4 MX.

both when I use the installer AND from make, I get the following error:

init_module: no such device

The nvidia.o driver is present, but I keep hitting this wall from every angle. I'm a linux n00b, so I may have overlooked something mundane.

I'd really appreciate any help.
Thanks alot

-Tony

change to a redhat 9.0 or test the 1.0-3123 drivers whitch would certainly work!

Default thanks very much

I appreciate the help..
I'll look into the older driver.
I really didn't want to upgrade to 9 yet,
but if it's necessary....

thanks again

Try modprobe instead of insmod.

Reading your post again, the module is nvidia not nvidia.o so try

modprobe nvidia

not

modprobe nvidia.o

Try this:
cd /lib/modules/2.x.x
[pico/joe/vi] modules.dep(use either pico joe or vi to edit your modules.dep file)
Now do a search for nvidia.o(in pico it is CTRL+W)
You should have the nvidia module in your modules.dep file. If not, do a depmod -a. If this doesn't worklet us know.
