Default Binning AMD Build me a rigg

Knowing not a lot about intel, never built or owned one I am looking to build a new rigg, let say for now $800 -$1000 ,

Intel seems to be the way to go these days

I would like some rigg specs of your choice that would fit this budget,

Drive space is not a winner for me, speed, stability , and gaming is though.

Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 ~ $239.99
Mobo: DFI Lanparty DK P35 ~ $139.99
RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) G.Skill DDR2 800 ~ $89.99
GPU: EVGA 8800GT 512MB ~ $214.99
PSU: Silverstone Zeus 650w ~ $129.99
HDD: Seagate 7200.10 320GB SATA ~ $84.99

Comes out to about $900

I didn't know if you needed a new case or new optical drive, but those shouldn't be too expensive or hard to decide on.

Originally I had gone with an 8800GTS 512 and a 750w PSU, but caused the price to rise above $1000, so I downgraded them a bit. Also, it was very hard to find a cheap enough 650w that was decent.

Depending on the resolution you game at, you may want to spend a bit more for the GTS (~ $300), and depending on how many periphreals or your upgrade path you may want to spend more for a better PSU.

Thank you very much for your time, this looks to me just about right, always wanted a dfi,and the rest of the setup fits in to my budget.

I will look at the components in detail and then make final decision.

Again thanks for your time.

That is one nice looking motherboard, what is your budget Dwarf? You may want to look into an x38/x48 LANparty if you can spare some more dough.

you could get the OCZ 600W psu for $90 from newegg and use the other $40 for a better vid card. It's only like $25 more for the EVGA 8800GT 512MB.

Nice catch, for some reason I thought that was a 512MB lmao. Definetely go for the 512MB GT, only $239.99

+1 for the rig Uberpwnage posted. The only thing that caught my eye, was the PSU; it's only 2.0. I don't actually know if it makes any difference, but wouldn't an ATX 2.2 PSU be a better choice? And I'd go for a faster hard drive. I've got the same one Uberpwnage suggested and it's pretty slow, so I'd go with either a samsung F1 hdd or WD Re2.

It's possible that your 7200.10 had the dreaded 3.AAK firmware which caused the transfer rates to be capped. Unfortunately Seagate doesn't support bios flashing of their drives, and only the 500GB models can be flashed successfully. If they're still shipping them with 3.AAK then another brand like Toss3 suggested might be a safer choice.
