WD My Book 500 HD and Router

I got one of these drives MikeC was reviewing and its ok but i want to use it on my Linksys wireless n router with the USB port.

Only question is this drive shuts off with pc and on with pc so good their so but to keep this drive from running all the time does the linksys NAS routers turn off the drive like the PC or will this thing run all the time.

No Clue? WTF no one knows if this drive will power on off connected to a router like it does on the USB port?

Well, there's only one way to find out... get it and test it.

It's probably not a problem for the drive to be running 24/7. I've had my HDD running in my computer almost continuiously since I got it over a year ago, and there's been no problems.

I will give it a try.

I just don't know if these drivers support power management over usb on routers.
