This 8XXX & 9XXX is the most confusing card release nvidia ever done in their history of this business. but lets see some benches guys!!

YES, processing completed. Newegg is on step 5. I hate when processing finishes on Fridays, because I wont get the package untill Mon-Wed

. If it's CPU limited, I'll just spend a few bucks on a (dare I say) Phenom until I finish the Intel build.

Well, an 8800 Ultra is much faster than a 9600GT. However, the 9800GTX will most likely be faster than the 8800 Ultra, but not by enough to justify an upgrade...

I am afraid Athlon 64 X2s and Phenoms are CPU limited too, been reading all Geforce 9600GT reviews and then did some benchmarked only found out it was much faster with Core 2 Duo and Quad than my Geforce 8800GTX with Athlon 64 X2 4400+ ever with 16xAA & 16AF at 1920x1080.

Here some tests I ran compared to Q6600 on elitebastards.com review

Half Life 2 Episode 2

1920x1080

9600GT with Q6600: 64.3fps
8800GTX with 4400+: 45fps

1920x1080 16xAA & 16AF

9600GT with Q6600: 50.18fps
8800GTX with 4400+: 30fps

Lost Planet

1920x1080

9600GT with Q6600: Cave: 56.8fps Snow: 44.6fps
8800GTX with 4400+: Cave: 21fps Snow: 20fps

Athlon 64 X2 4400+ cant keep up with Geforce 8800GTX, it seriously need upgrade to Q9450. Avoiding Phenom, the quad core wont give you much improve performance in games compare to Athlon 64 X2 and also triple core will give you lower game performance than Athlon 64 X2 4400+ with previous Geforce 7800GTX card scored around 4850 3DMark 06 2 years ago while Phenon 8600 with Geforce 7900GS card which has equal performance as Geforce 7800GTX scored 4624 3DMark 06.

just bought it from a local pcshop for €174 ( US$245, but pc parts seem to sell for around the same price for some reason...so US$175 )
