Personally I never particularly cared which format would win. However, I can't help but think that the royalties and other whatnots associated with BD are going to keep them expensive indefinitely.

Either way, I haven't bought into any high def formats yet, and I still don't plan to for some time to come.

No, its just that they are way overpriced and lately I haven't been terribly into watching videos much outside of the theater or whats on TV anyways.

HD movies/players at this stage are mostly aimed for early adopters, or for anyone who wants to stay up to date with technology or whatever. A lot of people still want to stay with DVD and wait until HD start to settle down, like price start to drop, etc. Blu-ray STILL do have chance to lose.
