We have an old RH 7.2 system used in a medical application. SOmething crapped out recently and we think it is a video board. We purchased an identical video board and are trying to get it working but X hangs at the NVIDIA splash screen.
We installed the legacy driver 96.43.05 which is supposed to support this chipset (GEForce Ti 4600). I wouldn't have done that but we had another video board that we tried first (GE Force 5x-something or other) which needed the newest NVIDIA driver but it turned out that it also needed a newer RH kernel and XFree86 version which is beyond my scope of knowledge (and would possible break my application). Anyway, please help!!! ![]() The bug report log is attached. |

New developement - evidently it was hung at the splash screen while it was trying to initialize the ELO touch screen which is not present. Now I get a ton of errors in the log.
I will repost in the next 15 minutes with a new log and the ELO touch screen removed from the XF86Config-4 file. |

ELO touch screen removed no longer hands at splash, just garbled text now.
Attached new bug report. |
