Default New GlyphCache and InitialPixmapPlacement options

Hi, just tried the new 171.06 driver and I must say that these new options do increase text scrolling performance on at least gnome-terminal and firefox 3.

Can someone shed some light on what the various values actually do?
(a technical answer would be great ;-)

Thanks

Edit: OK, forget it, AaronP already answered me in another post http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...0&postcount=11

Default Re: New GlyphCache and InitialPixmapPlacement options

Hmm, after all, there are web pages that get much slower with the initial pixmap placement on video memory while others benefit from it. :-(
