Default White stripes with 169.XX drivers

Topic says all. Screenshots are included. It happens only in Americas Army game so far, Enemy Territory Quake Wars works fine, so does Nexuiz. My graphic card is Palit 7300GT 256MB AGPX8 (http://www.palit.biz/main/vgapro.php?id=12). Those stripes don't exist with 100.XX drivers and earlier versions. What can I do to fix it?

1.

2.

3.
Here goes another example. This guy in front of me should not be transparent. And of course a huge fps drop...

Ah, and one more thing I forgot to add. Performance is much, much lower when those white stripes appear (FPS is near 15-30, while it should be around 50-80).

Angry Re: White stripes with 169.XX drivers

I experience the same striping in neverwinternights with this driver, I'm told it's the lack og ogl 1.3 support in this 169.xx driver series. Also, I am unable to select 800x600 as a resolution in enemy territory quake wars with the 169.xx drivers. Also, a hot fix for the striping was to make sure all textures didn't have a "blank" alpha channel. Putting anything there for a value seems to cure it.

fx5900xt card, slackware 12.

reverting back to any 100.xx series driver fixes the above issues, but at differeing frame rates.

Thanks for response. Do you know if it will be fixed in next version? Or should I just downgrade drivers to 100.XX and stick with them?

I have no clue, I'm hoping nvidia brings back support for ogl 1.3 and reverts the alpha channel handling in the next 169.xx driver release.

As for the hotfix, it was for neverwinternights only, and it's listed on nwvault.com for the 1.69 beta patch for that game. Don't be confused, nwn is in patch process and it just so happens it's the same numbers

Unfortunately in UT2004 (see previous poster's link) this problem still exists with 169.12 as well as with the actual beta drivers 171.06 . Are you sure the problem has gone on your machine with 169.12? Any other solutions except of downgrading?

I'm only sure that Americas Army 2.5 is not affected by this bug (I did not try UT2004) but 169.12 release brings some other bugs into HL2 and TF2 (I wrote about it here http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=110012).
