I got some Corsair Dominators (TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 4x1GB) in a trade today and I attempted to install them in my EVGA 780i board however I can't get the board to post. Well I should say it post when it wants to, once it posted I couldn't get the system to boot into windows with the ram running at 800mhz. Is this a BIOS issue, or simply populated all banks with ram issue?
Anyone else have similar experiences? Also I heard that the 780i cannot has issues running 4 dimms @ 1066mhz or faster, is there any truth to this? |

Not sure about the reference boards, but tons of people experienced issues with 1066 RAM on the Asus 780i boards. It could be BIOS related. Try increase your SPP/northbridge voltage to 1.4V, and vdimm to 2.2V or 2.3V and see if it helps. Also make sure you disable SLI Ready Memory in BIOS and set the timings manually.
