for the Ops reference, he's talking about the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. The only thing is that you need to buy a seperate fan to pair with it. http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_pa...50aHVzaWFzdA==

Unfortunately the Ultra 120 extreme is out of stock at newegg but I'll get it elsewhere if I need to.

I have a concern though, the weight of it is 790g for the heatsink alone and Would be even more with a fan.
I go to LAN's sometimes and that seems abit heavy unsupported, is there anything else or I should just buy it elsewhere because its really that good?

Would a Ultra 90 be viable and lighter for LAN travel? Says the Weight is 435g for the heatsink alone.
Was looking at this temp comparison:
http://www.frostytech.com/articlevie...id=2206&page=5

Would suck to get motherboard flex/bend or to break something around the CPU socket from moving it.

Thanks for your help.

Can always remove the HSF before you go to a LAN and then re-attach it.

That'd be abit much I think, if the thermal compound had settled it'd have to be reapplied every time and a hassle.

Okay, I took the plunge and ordered:
EVGA 790i Ultra
EVGA 8800 GTX
G.SKILL 4GB DDR3 1600 CL7
PC Power & Cooling S75QB EPS12V 750W Power Supply
Coolermaster Cosmos S Case
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1

Thank you to everyone that has helped me, I just have left to order a
Intel Q9450 OEM and a respective heatsink and fan for it.

I'm concerned about the lan / weight issue. Or even motherboard flex from a 700g+ heatsink. Is there any decent alternatives to the Ultra-120 or IFX-14? Or I'm worrying too much. I'll probably end up taking the Q9450 to 3.2-3.6ghz if I can.

Thanks Tyr-Sog, I already ordered though. Going to stick with the 8800GTX untill the GT200 comes out and its brand new price falls a little.
If the GT200 wasn't coming this year, I definitely would have went 8800GT or GTS SLi.

Really need to find the right Heatsink and fan for the Q9450 that doesn't need to be taken off for moving to LANs.

*edit*
Thanks all for the help, all parts ordered.
Decided on the Thermalright Ultima 90, its only 460g and within a couple C performance of the bigger Ultra 120.

Go buy a block of large semi stiff foam pad and cut it out to fit inside your case, make holes for all your components like CPU cooler, video card ect...

Just throw that bad boy in when moving your PC, and don't forget to take it out before you play
