I have that and the initialpixmapplacement set in my .xinitrc file as follows: Code:
sudo nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 & sudo nvidia-settings -a GlyphCache=1 & sleep 1 sudo nvidia-settings --load-config-only & is there a way to make these settings more permanent? (.nvidia-settings-rc maybe?) I'm just not sure because I've not really noticed much difference, then again I am using urxvt as my terminal with sub-pixel (and AA) fonts... so the problem may lie in urxvt and not with the nvidia drivers |

why sudo?
why not nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1 ? how about loading config first? and the &? I am not sure that it is really needed. |

i agree with what #170 said. you don't need sudo stuff.
just nvidia-setting directly, and yes, it will take effect right after that command. Quote:

I wonder if there are any plans by nvidia in accelerating text AA in legacy drivers as well. I'm using them.
By the way, does anyone know any way to benchmark different fonts? Do you think that different fonts need different resources? |
