Smile Memory support on P35 motherboards

Hi there,
i am trying to find out, if P35 motherboards with DDR3 slots that officially support 1333 mhz ram, will work also with 2000 mhz memory modules, its for my later upgrade to newer mobo, because just know i want to buy cheap p35 mobo, with ddr2 memory, but for easier upgrade i would like to have also ddr3 slots.

Have you tried looking on the manufacturer's website for the specifications? What brand 'board do you have?

Hm i`ve got answer on my question, although, i`m not sure,as it looks like it was only copied from manual,

Dear Sir,

4Core100Twins-P35 supports to DDR3 1333 memory speed.

regarding to this, it means that 2000 mhz memory wont work,
but question is, (i`m sorry i just dont believe it wont work)
if it wont work with 2000mhz memory on 1333 mhz, if it wont underclock that module, and than work with it.

Msi p35 Combo supports both ddr2 and ddr3, two slots for each. Official fsb support 1333/1066/800

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...6&maincat_no=1

My Msi p35 F is not combo, it's ddr2 only (4 sticks) with the same official fsb support. Unofficially this board supports higher (up to pc2-8500 I belive), but Ill have to get back to you with the exact numbers when I get home.

EDIT: Why not go for ddr3 right away with ram being as cheap as it is ?
